Studentenwohnheim

A Unified Platform interface design for Student Living

Problem

The Studentenwohnheim in Ingolstadt manages multiple departments such as electrical, development, and photography, while also organizing events and providing services like a canteen/store. However, these activities were handled through disconnected channels, leading to scattered communication and inefficient coordination. Students found it difficult to discover events, register on time, make purchases, or raise requests, while departments lacked a streamlined way to manage their work. Administrators faced challenges in tracking activities, resulting in delays, miscommunication, and an inconsistent user experience.

Solution

Designed a unified digital platform consisting of a student mobile app and an internal web portal to centralize all hostel services and operations. The app allows students to easily explore and register for events, make purchases from the canteen/store, interact with departments, and submit requests in one place. The web portal enables administrators and department members to manage events, handle requests, track activities, and coordinate tasks efficiently. This integrated solution reduces complexity, improves communication, and delivers a seamless and consistent user experience across all aspects of student living.
